Title I Summer ‘MS Credit Recovery’ Program 

Coordinator - Middle School

 

Qualifications (Required): 

  1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
  2. Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
  3. Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of standards based curriculum in Reading/Language Arts and/or Mathematics.
  4. Relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
  5. Previous experience leading summer or after school programs preferred.
  6. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and  
  7. administrators. 
  8. Coordinator must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

 

Qualifications (Preferred):

  1. Valid Massachusetts Administrator license as a principal/assistant principal and/or supervisor/director.
  2. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
  3. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
  4. License in Special Education.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinate referral process and registration/scheduling of students.
  2. Order/process materials. 
  3. Collaborate with the instructional coach about the planning and scheduling of small-group instructional ‘WIN’ blocks in literacy and numeracy.
  4. Oversee all disciplinary regulations and keep detailed notes of all disciplinary incidents during the program duration.
  5. Provide Tier I and II attendance services.
  6. Maintain attendance records and submit pre and post assessment data on students in the program.
  7. Write a program evaluation document.
  8. Lead staff development meetings, including 2 in-service days, in coordination with the instructional coach.
  9. Supervise program implementation.

Duration: 

Program Administration and Implementation 176 hours total to include the following: 

· Professional In-service Days June 17 - 18 (5 hours each day).  

· 18 days, Monday-Thursday, from June 24 - July 24 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.). 

· Pre/Post Program Work: 66 hours (April – August).

 

Stipend: $37 an hour, $6,512 total
