Special Education Extended School Year Program

Program Coordinators

(3 total - 1 Pre-K; 1 K-8; 1 HS)

 

Qualifications: 

  1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
  2. Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
  3. Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of Special Education Extended School Year
  4. Relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
  5. Coordinator must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

 

Qualifications (Preferred):

  1. Previous experience leading summer or after school programs.
  2. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
  3. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
  4. License in Special Education.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinate referral process and coordinate registration/scheduling of students including all communications with program managers, Team Chairs, teachers, and parents.
  2. Coordinate with Program Managers for In-Service Days June 27-28.
  3. Support Special Education Office in ordering/processing materials.
  4. Coordinate implementation of instruction during the program.
  5. Meet with program managers to develop and plan for summer instruction.
  6. Maintain student attendance records.
  7. Coordinate with the Special Education Office to maintain payroll records of teachers.
  8. Work with the transportation coordinator to maintain documents of students needing special transportation.

Duration: 

Program Administration and Implementation 161 hours total to include the following: 

· Professional In-service Days June 25 - 26 (3 hours each day).  

· 19 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 1 – August 1  (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m). No session will be held on July 4th.

· Programming Work: 60 hours (April 12 - July 1).

 

Stipend: $37 an hour, $5,957.00 total
