ESY Special Education Teacher of Visually Impaired

(1 Position  Pre-K-12) 

Qualifications (Required): 

  1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the respective content area of Special Education.
  2. Successful teaching experience. 
  3. Experience modifying and differentiating curriculum students within sub-separate and inclusion classes.
  4. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators. 
  5. Teachers must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

Qualifications (Preferred):

  1. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
  2. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
  3. License in Special Education.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Participate in two staff development meetings. 
  2. Collaborate with the Program Managers and Program Coordinator to plan and implement ESY Curriculum for students on IEP’s.
  3. Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records. 
  4. Keep folders/portfolios with student work. 
  5. Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator. 

Duration: 

 

Program Administration and Implementation 101 hours total to include the following: 

Stipend: $37 an hour, $3,737 total
