Overview of the Malden Public Schools

The Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a richly diverse school district located within the Greater Boston area and accessible by the MBTA orange line train.  Malden’s student body comprises approximately 6,800 students who represent 59 different countries and speak 67 different languages. Job Summary 

Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering changes in Harpers payroll system. Updates payroll records, exemptions, direct deposits, salary changes, etc. Under the general direction of the Director of Finance. 

 

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Education and experience equivalent to: 

Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting and payroll experience, preferably in a school setting.

 

Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 52-week position

 

Salary: SEIU Grade 4 Payroll Supervisor 

 

Reports to:  Director of Finance & Operations
