Overview of the Malden Public Schools:
The Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a richly diverse school district located within the Greater Boston area and accessible by the MBTA orange line train. Malden’s student body comprises approximately 6,800 students who represent 59 different countries and speak 67 different languages. We have 1 early learning center, 5 K-8 schools, and 1 high school. Summary: This position is responsible for picking up and delivering product to and from all schools within the district in a safe and neat manner ensuring that product is maintained properly.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Duties:

Maintain a clean and valid driver’s license.

Drive the vehicle into position for loading and unloading.

Loading and unloading product in a safe and neat manner to make sure goods are correctly stowed.

Communicate with office.

Deliver and unload goods at required site.

Obtain a receipt for goods delivered.

Vehicle check must be done daily.Vehicle report must be completed weekly.

Hand in all gas receipts/cards upon getting gas.

Must maintain an odometer log daily.

Responsible for daily cleaning of vehicle.

No other passengers allowed in vehicle unless authorized by manager.

Must adhere to all motor vehicle laws and regulations.

Must adhere to all school district policies which include but are not limited to: time of delivery, parking, designated delivery areas and designated driving areas.

Whitsons and the City of Malden/Malden Public Schools are not responsible for any traffic violations while you are driving the company vehicle and are on company time. If you receive a traffic violation, you will be responsible for the ticket.
- Must adhere to all Whitsons policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Competecies:
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must complete all Whitsons and government required training as necessary
Certifications:
- Clean unblemished driver license required
- Servsafe certification
Other Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
- Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.
- 1 year driving in professional role required
- Able to access and communicate via email
- Always present a positive and professional image.

- Be sitting driving in vehicle
- Be standing on feet when not in vehicle, in addition to walking back and forth.
- Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Lifting while turning side to side is frequently necessary.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Position may require extended hours including evenings and/or weekends, travel to multiple work sites.
Work Environment:
- The work is performed primarily in the vehicle assigned to her/him.
- Work requires movement in and out of store rooms and freezers
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
